Why Should You Document Your Remodeling Project?

Home remodeling can be exciting and stressful at the same time. No matter how busy your project gets, dedicate a bit of your time to document its progress. At the end of your remodel, taking a look at your home’s transformation photos will make all your effort and hard work worth it.

Continue reading to discover the importance of documenting your remodeling project.

Remember the Location of Wires and Pipes

When remodeling your home, you should look into the future. Consider what will happen the next time you decide to modify your space. If you are considering selling your property in the future, renovating it might make it more attractive to prospective buyers. It could also be that you want to make your home aging-in-place ready.

During your bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom remodel, walls will be exposed, showing the location of your pipes. It would be a great idea to take photos of them. The next time you remodel your home, it would save you significant time and money if you already know where essential pipes and wirings are.

A Proof That You Addressed Code Violations

When it’s time to sell your home, the inspector would want proof that its features are up to code. Contractors may see at least one code violation during your renovation. A reliable professional would tell you about them and perform necessary changes to bring the affected areas into compliance. Take before and after photos of these areas so you can show them to the inspector.

Have Something to Show Off to Your Loved Ones

Your friends and family would be excited to see the before and after pictures of your home. They will surely be delighted to see how your newly renovated space looks like. You can also keep these photos and show them to potential buyers to impress them.
